Mediation is often the best way to solve the problems inherent in divorce: emotional rather than legal issues often tend to rule the day and Mediation can offer a realistic and holistic approach to creating solutions to these problems for the entire family. In Mediation the parties meet with a neutral person whose role is to help them reach an agreement on all or some of the issues in their divorce so as not to go to court where a judge will determine the outcome with reference only to the law, and not to emotional or other issues. You should be represented by an attorney in mediation and you should expect a mediator to challenge your ideas about what is “fair” or “equitable” on the road to crafting a good settlement.
Sally C. Fox represents clients in mediation and is a registered neutral with the State of Georgia Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution and is available to mediate cases where both parties are represented by their own counsel.
Guardians ad Litem serve an important and special function in custody cases: they are appointed by the Court to investigate issues involved in custody and parenting time disputes. Sally has served as a GAL in custody cases and is available to work with lawyers to thoroughly investigate and make recommendations in any custody case in the Metro area.
The Fox Legal team has produced a series of three videos to help you understand how Mediation works and how it can benefit you.
